This program is designed for young adults (ages 7-17) that are being bullied, or have been bullied and that need to be taught positive but effective solutions to resolve conflicts. The program will teach individuals how to resolve problems in an effective way by:
· Coping with “Schoolyard Bullies”.
· Understanding how kids as bullies become adult bullies.
· Gaining confidence to win without fighting.
By understanding important factors about bullying, this creates an intelligent approach to assist young people in creating a healthy alternative to conflicts. Here are some suggested conflict resolution skills that are also important in the program that we provide.
Learning that fighting is not an honorable solution to conflict.
· Developing the confidence to resolve conflict creatively.
· Understanding the effects of bullying, individually and socially.
· Understanding what creates a victim/bully mentally.
Kids also explore other issues such as dealing with bullying, how to identify and respond to strangers, and how to deal with inappropriate or abusive behavior from either strangers or people they know.
Role playing is an important part of our program, as well as practical hands-on application of basic self-defense techniques that are age-appropriate.
